Cancellation Misano and Hockenheim

The scheduled BOSS GP races in Misano Adriatico and at the Hockenheimring will not take place in 2020.

The first BOSS GP race after the Corona crisis should have taken place in Misano (ITA) on June 20, 2020. The organizers in Italy have tried until the end to be able to hold the race event, if necessary, without spectators. However, as the Italian authorities have not yet given their approval, the event had to be cancelled unfortunately. The reason for the restrictions are the still ongoing regulations to contain the corona pandemic. This means that the debut of Europe’s fastest racing series on the very interesting racetrack on the Adriatic coast is postponed to next year.

Sadly, the race at the Jim Clark Revival in Hockenheim (DEU) cannot take place either. The race originally planned for April was already postponed two months ago. The organisers are aiming a spare date in autumn. However, because BOSS GP has already planned two races each in September and October, the Big Open Single Seater will not be able to compete in this year’s Hockenheim Historic.

Four race weekends in the schedule of the 2020 BOSS GP series are currently confirmed:

4–6 September Brno (Czech Republic) Masaryk Racing Days
25–27 September Assen (Netherlands) Cuvee Sensorium Grand Prix
9–11 October Mugello (Italy) BOSS Mugello Grand Prix
23–25 October Imola (Italy) Pirelli Grande Finale

BOSS GP is in negotiations with other racetracks and organisers in order to be able to include possible substitute races in the calendar. As soon as there are any news, we will publish them on www.bossgp.com.

New date for Mugello

Good news: The BOSS GP return to Tuscany can take place from 9–11 October.

Originally scheduled as the season opener, the race in Mugello had to be postponed from March to October due to corona measures. Whether spectators will be allowed to attend the race cannot be confirmed at this time.

This means that six race weekends are still on the calendar in 2020. The season is supposed to start on 20/21 June in Misano. Followed by Brno, Assen and the Italian double Mugello and Imola in October. A new date for the Jim Clark Revival in Hockenheim will be published soon. BOSS GP is in close contact with the German organizers to make this traditional race happen.

The Gamma Racing Days with the Cuvee Sensorium BOSS Grand Prix have been moved to September.

The BOSS GP event in the Netherlands will now take place from 25 to 27 September instead of August. Due to the extensive regulations to control the spread of the corona virus, the organizers were forced to react and move the popular event to fall. Already purchased paddock tickets and VIP tickets remain valid.

Current developments regarding a possible start of the season will be published as soon as possible on www.bossgp.com.

Last call

Drivers and teams can still register for a BOSS GP full season program until Friday, the 28th of February.

For those who have not yet registered for the 2020 BOSS GP season, now is the right time! The last day for the registration for all races and therefore a cheaper registration fee compared to single entries is next Friday, February 28, 2020.

Huge interest in BOSS GP 2020

Less than 80 days left until the first BOSS GP race in Mugello and already numerous drivers have registered for our 26th season.

The registration has only started at the beginning of January, and despite this, numerous drivers and teams have already registered for the 2020 season. The interest has rarely been as great as this year. We thank you all, who has already signed for the season!

The regulations of the spectacular racing series are very similar to those of 2019. Only the fastest monoposto racing cars of the past 20 years will be allowed to participate. Six race weekends with twelve races are scheduled for Europe’s fastest racing series this season. Starting in March with the return to Mugello, followed by the Jim Clark Revival at the Hockenheimring, Forza Fanatec in Misano, the Cuvee Sensorium Grand Prix in Assen, the Masaryk Racing Days in Brno and the Pirelli Grande Final in Imola in October.

Tour plan 2020

Europe’s most exciting racing series visits six top-class racetracks in the upcoming season – two of them are new on the schedule.

The 26th season of BOSS GP begins with a premiere. The opening race of this spectacular motorsport series will take place at the end of March in Mugello. The MotoGP circuit is one of the most popular tracks in Italy and is owned by Ferrari. In 2020 the location will be back on the BOSS GP schedule after a five-year break. From 27 to 29 March, the comeback of the Big Open Single Seater series will be the highlight of the Peroni Racing Weekend.

From 24 to 26 April, the fastest racing cars on the continent will be guests at the Hockenheimring in Germany. The Bosch Hockenheim Historic is one of the most important classic racing events in Europe and attracts numerous spectators to the Motodrom year after year. In the program of the revival dedicated to Jim Clark, BOSS GP is a perfect headliner.

A completely new racetrack for the BOSS GP pilots will follow in June: The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli is the venue for races 5 and 6 of the season. The flat track is technically demanding and an ideal playground for BOSS GP racing. The racetrack near Rimini is located directly on the Adriatic coast and can be easily combined with a holiday.

Fantastic crowd at the Gamma Race Days in Assen

In 2020 the BOSS GP series is again part of the Gamma Race Days in Assen. After the summer break in July, Formula 1, Formula 2 and other spectacular monoposto cars will show their strength from 7 to 9 August in front of an enormous crowd of 100,000 Dutch fans. In addition to BOSS GP, motorcycles, touring cars and superkarts will also be putting the pedal to the metal. Admission is free.

The first weekend of September (4–6) will see the Masaryk Racing Days in Brno on the schedule of the BOSS GP racing series. The biggest Czech circuit will be once again a thrilling location, which has delivered exciting BOSS GP races in the past.

The grand final will take place in Imola like in 2019. After a successful comeback with fantastic races and satisfied drivers, BOSS GP will return to the Emilia-Romagna region on 23, 24 and 25 October. We hope for another exciting title decision as in FORMULA class 2019.

Unique motorsport is guaranteed with BOSS GP in 2020

As usual there will be two free practice sessions, one qualifying session and two 20 to 25-minute races on each race weekend. The exact timetables and ticket information will be published on bossgp.com prior to the races.

Night of champions

BOSS GP tyre supplier Pirelli and champagne partner Cuvee Sensorium have invited to the 2019 BOSS GP awards ceremony in the Austrian Alps.

The anniversary season of BOSS GP ended with a festive event where teams and friends from Europe’s fastest racing series celebrated the 25th year of BOSS GP. This year, the prize giving ceremony took place in Maria Alm near Salzburg.

With specially decorated BOSS GP gondolas the guests were taken up to Toms Almhütte at 1166 metres above sea level. In addition to excellent champagne from BOSS GP partner Cuvee Sensorium, excellent Austrian cuisine was offered. After traditional cheese noodles, roast and Kaiserschmarrn, the three best from the two categories OPEN and FORMULA were honoured. The trophies were handed over by star guest and Elvis Tribute artist Rusty.

Ingo Gerstl (Top Speed) from Austria received for the fifth time the champions trophy for winning the OPEN class. For the Frenchman “Piter” (Ray-Ban) it was a premiere at the award ceremony. This year he not only performed brilliantly on the dancefloor, he also took second place in OPEN standings.

Proud champion of the FORMULA category is Marco Ghiotto (ITA, Scuderia Palladio). In a season-long duel with fellow countryman Alessandro Bracalente (Speed Center) he finally won by a narrow margin. Ghiotto announced that he will bring more drivers into the series next year. Andreas Fiedler (DEU, Fiedler Racing) was presented with the trophy for third place.

Furthermore, the champions Gerstl and Ghiotto received custom-made carbon helmets from Bell. All other BOSS GP drivers got a very special present too: The best photo of the year from each pilot was printed on glass, shown during the evening and handed over later.

Update: New date for Monza 2019

The June date for the BOSS GP race weekend in Monza has been moved one week ahead by the organisers.

Races 5 and 6 of the BOSS GP will take place from 14 to 16 June 2019 at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy. The original date (21-23 June) has been postponed by the organiser Peroni by one week.

The 25th season of the BOSS GP starts with the Jim Clark Revival in the Hockenheim Motodrom. The event from 26 to 28 April is devoted to the Formula 1 legend who died in an accident at Hockenheim. The event is one of the most important classic racing events in Europe, and in 2019 the BOSS GP will once again be the main event of this highlight.

On the second race weekend from 23 to 25 May, the BOSS GP will be making a guest appearance in the new home of the racing series. At the Red Bull Ring in Austria, the Big Open Single Seaters will share the program with the KTM X-Bow Battle for the first time. The sports car racing series is one of the strongest one-make championships in the world. The event at Spielberg takes place from Thursday to Saturday.

In June (14–16) the first of two Italian appearances of the BOSS GP 2019 will take place at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. On Italy’s fastest motorway, the adrenaline level will rise as always, because besides skill, the drivers will also need a lot of courage.

Another highlight in the 2019 calendar is the popular event in Assen (Netherlands). Instead of the Gamma Race Days, this time the BOSS GP will be part of the DTM programme (19 to 21 July). Last year, BOSS GP and the German premium touring car series had already contested the event together in Spielberg, and now the partnership is being extended.

From September 6th to 8th, the BOSS GP will once again attend the Masaryk Racing Days in Brno. The Czech racetrack attracts with a roller coaster that is well appreciated by the drivers. The most exciting races of 2018 took place here.

The BOSS GP will return to Italy for the final round of 2019 and to Imola after a one-year break. The races will take place on the former Formula 1 track from 11 to 13 October. In the calendar planning, particular importance was attached to extending the intervals between the individual events and dividing the races into seven months. There will be a summer break in August.

As usual, every race weekend will have two races of 20–25 minutes each, in addition to training and qualifying. The exact schedules will be published at www.bossgp.com before the races.

Six race weekends are on the schedule of Europe’s fastest racing series in the coming season. At Assen, BOSS GP will support the DTM, at the finale the series will return to Imola.
