“I am so happy. It has been a great, trouble-free weekend so far. Sunday might be more difficult, but I will do my best”, Marques was all smiles. The Brazilian recorded his maiden BOSS GP victory in his debut race, finishing ahead of team mate Frits van Eerd.

And the Dutchman was very lucky to come runner-up. “On the Installation Lap my Minardi caught fire. I turned to the pits immediately, where we extinguished the flames and I changed cars. Ending the race on the podium is somewhat a miracle. I had great fights out there today.” Peter Milavec from Austria came third saying: “That was not a bad wet race from us at all. No problems with the tyre temperatures this time. But we are much quicker in the dry, so I will be on attack mode tomorrow.”

The rain really helped us.” Dorrbecker managed to conserve a margin to second-placed Chris Höher, who had stormed from P12 up to the Mexican, recording the fastest lap of the race on the way. “This is a great result. The car was so fast and I could finish on the podium. Now I want to win tomorrow.”

India’s Mahaveer Raghunathan came third again dedicating his success “to my grandfather, who made all this possible.”

Formel F1 team owner and racing legend Giancarlo Minardi came to visit BOSS GP in Imola and was impressed. “It’s a great and highly exciting series. It has all the ingredients of true motor racing. I am of course delighted about Frits’ podium and seeing my cars fight for the win.”
