Gerstl ahead of Zwart in practice, Hauser with great comeback
Already thousands of fans came to the track early to attend the free practice session on Super-Saturday. After 30 minutes of earsplitting engine sound and high-speed lapping Ingo Gerstl topped the standings
The session began with a traffic jam, as all drivers wanted to get out as quickly as possible. After all, the tight schedule of the Gamma Racing Days in Assen only allows one free practice all weekend.
Championship leader Ingo Gerstl impressed with a lap time of 1:20.239 minutes, but local hero Klaas Zwart was not far off. The Dutchman finished runner-up ahead of Wolfgang Jaksch, Peter Milavec, Frits van Eerd and Hans Laub.
In the FORMULA Class, comebacker Gary Hauser from Luxembourg once again showed his great skill. The dominator of the season opener at the Hockenheimring marked the category best of the day. »It’s great to be back. And even more so by setting a top time.“
Hauser was closely followed by three Lola drivers Luis Michael Dorrbecker, Mexico, Christof von Grünigen, Switzerland, and Mahaveer Raghunathan, India. Dutchman Henk de Boer came 11th at his home race.
Qualifying will take off at 13:45 local time
