After two years, the BOSS GP Racing Series finally returns to the Parco di Monza, one of the most prestigious racing venues in the world.

Where just a few weeks ago thousands and thousands of Tifosi were able to experience Carlos Sainz, Max Verstappen & Co., Formula 1 history will once again return this coming weekend (September 22 to 24, 2023). With the BOSS GP Racing Series, the fastest racing cars of the past 25 years are lined up to contest again in a race. The great interest in drivers for the sixth race weekend of the season showed how popular the circuit is.

The second of three Italian BOSS GP rounds this season will be held in Monza

The 5.793-kilometer racetrack in the royal park of Monza is one of the most impressive racing facilities in the world. As one of the last high-speed tracks, it is a unique challenge for racing drivers. A large part of the original layout has been adapted to modern safety standards and is still used today, but the steep concrete curves can only be visited on foot. Many drivers and fans also combine their visit with a trip to the centre of Milan, about half an hour away, or to nearby Lake Garda.

Entries

Ingo Gerstl (AUT, Top Speed), who is already confirmed as the old and new champion of the BOSS GP F1 Class, will enter the races in Monza as the logical favourite for victory. His STR1 with the V10 Cosworth engine is the fastest car on the grid for Monza.

In the OPEN class, where adapted monoposto cars will be on the grid, Paul O‘ Connell is expected to make an appearance. This time, the popular Irish racer will be driving a second Dallara World Series with a 4.5-liter engine, prepared by HS Engineering, in an attempt to stand up to ex-Formula 1 driver Antonio Pizzonia (HS Engineering). The Brazilian has already been confirmed as champion of his class and will once again try to keep up with Gerstl’s Formula 1 car and offer the fans the best possible show.

This time, there is particularly great interest in the FORMULA class, where there are some newcomers: Juju Noda is one of them. The Japanese is the daughter of Hideki Noda, the former Formula 1 and IndyCar driver. On her way towards the top class, she uses the BOSS GP platform as an ideal training environment to familiarise herself with a big Formula racing car. To do so, the former W Series driver will climb into a 3.5-litre World Series of the Austrian team HS Engineering this weekend.

With Felix Grosse-Aschhoff and Michael Grosse-Aschhoff (both GER), two drivers from Asche Racing will join the grid in Monza. The international character of the BOSS GP Racing Series is also demonstrated by the entry of David Richert from Canada, who will compete for MM International from Italy. Richert has previously raced in the Formula Renault Eurocup and most recently competed in Formula 3. Now he is celebrating his debut in a GP2 Dallara.

In the duel for the championship title, however, two other drivers are in the spotlight: Once again it is Scuderia Palladio driver Marco Ghiotto (champion 2019, 2020, 2021) and Simone Colombo (champion 2022) who are battling it out at their home race. Colombo (MM International) could clinch the title already this weekend.

Five other Italians will be competing in Monza, including Robert Vanni and Walter Colacino (both Colacino Racing) in a Formula 3000 in the SUPER LIGHTS category. With Stefan Eisinger-Sewald (AUT, Red Rose Racing) in an older Ralt-F3000 and Jody Stadelmann (SUI, Team Stadelmann) in the rare Formula Nippon-Mugen, there are also two returnees in this class.

During the entire race weekend, entry to the racetrack is free of charge. Almost all grandstands are open. Parking costs 15 euros per car and 5 euros per motorbike on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The grand finale of the BOSS GP anniversary season will take place from 11 to 13 October – back in Imola after a two-year break.

The hilly and challenging course in the Italian town of Imola is the ideal venue for this season’s finale of Europe’s fastest racing series. Built in the 1950s, the Imola circuit has seen many triumphs and tragedies. The track, named after Enzo Ferrari and his early deceased son Dino, is still a highlight for every racing driver today. Although the track has not been on the Formula 1 racing calendar for several years, the 4.9-kilometre-long asphalt track has all the ingredients of a world-class track. Imola is also the only track in the BOSS GP calendar to be driven counterclockwise. This affects the set-up of the racing cars (more left turns) as well as the pilots themselves, where the neck muscles, for example, are subjected to different stresses. At the last appearance in Imola in 2017 the race winners were Ingo Gerstl (AUT, Top Speed) and Rinus van Kalmthout (NLD, Mansell Motorsport).

Why the BOSS GP Grande Finale is worth visiting?

The sixth round of the season with races 11 and 12 will decide the championship title in the FORMULA class. While Toro Rosso driver Ingo Gerstl (AUT, Top Speed) has defended his title in the OPEN classification prematurely, two Italians in their Formula 2 cars fight for the first place in the FORMULA ranking: Marco Ghiotto (Scuderia Palladio) goes after three second places en suite into the final round with a lead of 15 points over Alessandro Bracalente (Speed Center). A technical retirement at the last race in Brno meant that Bracalente is now the chaser. 50 points can still be scored in Imola, so Andreas Fiedler (DEU, Fiedler Racing) has still theoretical chances for the title. Practically he is fighting for third place against Philippe Haezebrouck (FRA, Speed Center). Who may put on the „crown“, will be determined at the very latest next Sunday.

In addition to BOSS GP, modern and historic sports car and touring car series are part of an exciting race weekend. The Renault Clio Cup, Lotus Cup and Alfa Revival Cup will, as usual, ensure exciting motorsport too.

Die innovative und aufstrebende Mähren-Stadt Brünn ist vom 5. bis 8. September Schauplatz des neunten und zehnten BOSS Grand Prix 2019.

Nach dem TT Circuit in Assen folgt mit dem Automotodrom Brünn eine weitere für Motorradrennen berühmte Rennstrecke. Die zweitgrößte Stadt Tschechiens ist auch in der Jubiläumssaison Gastgeber für die Big Open Single Seater. Die Bahn am westlichen Stadtrand ist mit 5,403 Kilometer Streckenlänge die längste im BOSS GP-Rennkalender 2019. Schnell und flüssig zu fahrende Kurven wechseln sich mit einem technisch anspruchsvollen Teil ab. Auch die Motorleistung ist mitentscheidend, denn auf der tschechischen Achterbahn geht es im letzten Streckendrittel steil bergauf.

Was wird bei den Masaryk Racing Days geboten?

Die BOSS GP-Serie ist mitten im Titelkampf angekommen. Ingo Gerstl (AUT, Top Speed) könnte in der OPEN-Klasse mit einer Verlängerung der bereits drei Rennen andauernden Siegesserie schon in Brünn zum Meister gekürt werden. Weitaus knapper geht’s in der FORMULA-Klasse zur Sache: Dort haben Alessandro Bracalente (ITA, Speed Center) und Marco Ghiotto (ITA, Scuderia Palladio) die besten Chancen. Als Außenseiter gehandelt werden vor den letzten vier Rennen in Brünn und Imola noch Philippe Haezebrouck (FRA, Speed Center) und Andreas Fiedler (DEU, Fiedler Racing). Zusätzliche Würze bringen mit ihrem Gaststart in Brünn Marc Faggionato und Nicolas Matile. Faggionato gewann im Vorjahr beide Rennen.

Neben dem Headliner BOSS GP fahren von Donnerstag bis Sonntag weitere Rennserien: u.a. Sports Car und P9 Challenge, Drexler Formel Cup, ESET V4 Cup mit TCR, Suzuki Swift Cup Europe und historische Rennklassen (HAIGO). Die Rennfans können sich am Wochenende mit den Rahmenserien auf insgesamt 19 Rennen freuen.

Before Max Verstappen and Co. compete in a Dutch Grand Prix next year, BOSS GP will give Netherlands a taste of Formula 1 this weekend in Assen.

This year, the BOSS GP teamed up with the German Touring Car Masters to offer the 100,000 fans an incomparable racing line-up. While Assen is new for the DTM, the 4.5-kilometer TT Circuit is familiar territory for the BOSS GP. The fastest racing series in Europe was part of the GAMMA Racing Day in recent years.

What does the DTM event offer?

It all starts on Thursday in the city centre of Assen with its 68,000 inhabitants: From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. there will be a show run on the Vaart Zuidzijde, with free admission and demo rides of all racing series of the weekend. BOSS GP with the fastest racing cars in the world and the heroes who drive them can also be seen in action.

From Friday to Sunday there will be full day action on the TT Circuit with a total of six sessions of the BOSS GP. The Big Open Single Seater series makes possible, that formula cars of the highest categories can still be seen at their original purpose: Racing against each other. Also driving are DTM, Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, Lotus Cup Europe and the Women’s Formula Series W Series. Of course, Assen can’t do without bikes on the traditional motorcycle track either: Moto2 demo laps fill the breaks between the races.

It’s gonna be hot: The Formula 1, Formula 2 and World Series cars of the BOSS GP will be on Italy’s „fastest motorway“ from 14 to 16 June in perfect weather and for free.

Races 5 and 6 of the 2019 BOSS GP season will take place next weekend at the Monza Eni Circuit. The traditional race track is 5.8 kilometres long and not far from the city of Milan. With an average speed of around 240 km/h, it is the fastest track in the BOSS GP racing calendar.

17 drivers are registered for the first of two Italian races of the BOSS GP this year. For seven of them it is a home race: the Italian team MM International comes with Marco Martucci, Gianluca Ripoli and team owner Armando Mangini. The runner-up of the FORMULA, Marco Ghiotto, in the former Charles Leclerc F2 car and cousin Sergio Ghiotto are competing for the Scuderia Palladio. Two more Italians are driving for non-Italian teams: Salvatore de Plano for Top Speed and FORMULA leader Alessandro Bracalente for Speed Center. They all drive cars from different Formula 2 generations.

What does the Competizione BOSS GP offer?
In addition to the Big Open Single Seater, ten other racing series are part of this exciting event organized by Gruppo Peroni. These include the prototype class of the Sports Car Challenge, the GT3 of the P9 Challenge, the Renault Clio Cup Italia one-make cup and some historic racing series such as the Alfa Revival Cup.

On that weekend, a road safety course for children will also be inaugurated on the racetrack grounds. The use is free of charge for visitors on the opening weekend.

According to weather forecasts, it will get hot: up to 33 degrees Celsius, precipitation is not to be expected.

Formula 1, Formula 2 and World Series cars are back on track in the Alps. Europe’s fastest racing series will be competing at Pirelli Masters on the Red Bull Ring from 23 to 25 May 2019.

Motorsport fans never get closer to Formula 1: The BOSS GP is coming to Austria for its second race weekend in 2019. In the package are the fastest racing cars in the world and the 20 heroes who drive them. The one-make championship KTM X-Bow Battle and the DMV GT series are also part of the line-up.

When is the BOSS GP on track?
The race weekend starts already on Thursday and ends (!) on Saturday. On Friday there will be the first race of the BOSS GP. Premiere: Saturday morning there will be for the first time a 10-minute warm up session of the Big Open Single Seater.

Startklar fürs Jubiläum: die BOSS GP 2019

Die 25. Saison der BOSS GP beginnt an diesem Wochenende am Hockenheimring in Deutschland. Mit so viel Fahrzeit wie noch nie und jede Menge PS.

25 Jahre gibt es Europas schnellste Rennserie schon, zehn Jahre davon unter dem Namen BOSS GP. Grund genug, für die Big Open Single Seater 2019 richtig durchzustarten. Schon traditionell beginnt am kommenden Wochenende (26. bis 28. April) die Saison auf der Formel-1-Strecke von Hockenheim nahe Stuttgart.

Zwei Rennen der spektakulären BOSS GP stehen am Programm, in einem Rahmen, der kaum schöner sein könnte: Die Bosch Hockenheim Historic, zu Ehren des in Hockenheim am 7. April 1968 verunglückten schottischen Rennfahrers Jim Clark, lockt jährlich im Frühjahr rund 500 Starter und mehr als 20.000 Fans ins Motodrom. Überall erwarten die Zuschauer offene Türen, denn die Eintrittskarte beinhaltet freien Zugang ins Fahrerlager, zu den Ausstellungen, aufs Boxendach und in die Boxen selbst.

Teilnehmer: BOSS GP
20 Fahrer haben sich fürs Rennwochenende in Hockenheim eingeschrieben. Mit Rekord-Champion Ingo Gerstl (AUT, Toro Rosso STR1), Gerd Thöny (LIE, Jordan EJ13), Phil Stratford (USA, Benetton B197) und Ulf Ehninger (DEU, Benetton B197) sind vier Formel-1-Autos angekündigt.

Dazu kommen 15 Boliden aus der Formel 2, u.a. die Lokalmatadoren Andreas Fiedler (Vize-Meister Klasse FORMULA 2018) und Walter Steding.

Die endgültige Starterliste wird zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt veröffentlicht.

Die Teams und Fahrer der BOSS GP sind mit Ausnahme von Andreas Fiedler (Fahrerlager) in den vorderen Boxen mit den Nummer 3 bis 21 untergebracht.

So nahe kommt man den Rennwagen nur bei der BOSS GP

Zeitplan: BOSS GP beim Bosch Hockenheim Historic
Der 4,5-Kilometer-lange Grand-Prix-Kurs und das Rahmenprogramm wetteifern gewissermaßen um die Zuschauergunst. An jedem der drei Veranstaltungstage geht es ab 9 Uhr los. Neben der BOSS GP sind die FIA Lurani Trophy, die Boliden der CanAm und die Young-Timer-Tourenwagen die Highlights.

Die BOSS GP fährt am Freitag zwei halbstündige Trainings. Am Samstag folgt am Vormittag das Qualifying für die Startaufstellung beider Rennen. Das erste Rennen (20 Minuten) geht am Samstag über die Bühne, das zweite (25 Minuten) am Sonntag zur „Prime Time“ um 14:10 Uhr. Zuvor gibt es am Vormittag noch ein zusätzliches Warm-up für die Fahrer und Fans.

Schon am Donnerstag (25. April) wird den ganzen Tag trainiert.

Kostenlos, aber nicht umsonst: Beim GAMMA Racing Day treffen Formel-1-Star Carlos Sainz Jr., Superbike-Ass Michael van der Mark und die BOSS GP aufeinander – all das bei freiem Eintritt.

Schon seit einigen Jahren begeistert der GAMMA Racing Day die niederländischen Motorsportfans: Jährlich im Sommer bietet die Veranstaltung auf dem TT Circuit in Assen ein Monsterprogramm, das seinesgleichen sucht. Den Mix aus Kart, Motorrad, Tourenwagen und Formelautos gibt es sonst nirgends. Daher verwundert es kaum, dass bis zu 100.000 Fans in den Nordosten der Niederlande pilgern.

Assen, eine Motorradstrecke
Die erste Dutch Tourist Trophy (TT) für Motorräder fand 1925 statt, allerdings noch auf öffentlichen Straßen. Erst 1955 wurde dafür eigens eine Rennstrecke gebaut, die teilweise aber immer noch für den öffentlichen Verkehr freigegeben war. Die 7,7 Kilometer lange Piste wurde 1984 komplett renoviert und auf 6,1 Kilometer Länge verkürzt. 1992 wurde der heutige TT Circuit Assen zum ersten Mal dauerhaft vom öffentlichen Verkehr getrennt. 2006 gab es abermals eine weitere Änderung am Layout: Die Strecke wurde auf 4,5 Kilometer verkürzt, und die Sicherheit deutlich verbessert.

Assen ist die einzige Strecke, auf der seit 1949 jedes Jahr ein Motorrad-WM-Rennen ausgetragen wurde. Doch auch was den Automobilsport angeht, ist Assen auf der Landkarte vertreten: So startete in der Vergangenheit etwa die ChampCar World Series und die A1 GP auf dem TT Circuit. Auch die BOSS GP fährt seit 2015 wieder regelmäßig in Assen, und sorgt Jahr für Jahr für eine Megashow. Rekordsieger ist der Österreicher Ingo Gerstl (Top Speed), der fünf der letzten sechs Rennen gewann.

GAMMA Racing Day: Event der Superlative
Drei Tage begeistert ein dicht gedrängtes Programm die Zuschauer vor Ort und live im niederländischen Fernsehen. Der Eintritt ist kostenlos, der Zugang zum Fahrerlager ist begrenzt und kostet 15 Euro pro Tag oder 25 Euro für alle drei Renntage. Tickets können entweder vor Ort an den Kassen gekauft werden oder vorab online.

Die BOSS GP fährt aufgrund des dichtgedrängten Programms nur ein Freies Training. Sowohl Samstag als auch Sonntag gibt es ein Rennen der Big Open Single Seater zu bestaunen. Die Fahrzeuge und Teams der BOSS GP befinden sich im Boxengebäude, von Box 11 bis 20.

Weitere Serien im Programm: Supercar Challenge, TCR Europe, Ford Fiesta Cup, historische Sport- und Tourenwagen, FIA Superkart-EM, FIM Seitenwagen-WM, Yamaha R3 Cup.

Außerdem: Formel-1-Demorunden von Carlos Sainz Jr. im Renault, Superbike-Demorunden von Michael van der Mark auf der Yamaha, Formel-1-Zweisitzer und vieles mehr.
