It’s gonna be hot: The Formula 1, Formula 2 and World Series cars of the BOSS GP will be on Italy’s „fastest motorway“ from 14 to 16 June in perfect weather and for free.

Races 5 and 6 of the 2019 BOSS GP season will take place next weekend at the Monza Eni Circuit. The traditional race track is 5.8 kilometres long and not far from the city of Milan. With an average speed of around 240 km/h, it is the fastest track in the BOSS GP racing calendar.

17 drivers are registered for the first of two Italian races of the BOSS GP this year. For seven of them it is a home race: the Italian team MM International comes with Marco Martucci, Gianluca Ripoli and team owner Armando Mangini. The runner-up of the FORMULA, Marco Ghiotto, in the former Charles Leclerc F2 car and cousin Sergio Ghiotto are competing for the Scuderia Palladio. Two more Italians are driving for non-Italian teams: Salvatore de Plano for Top Speed and FORMULA leader Alessandro Bracalente for Speed Center. They all drive cars from different Formula 2 generations.

What does the Competizione BOSS GP offer?
In addition to the Big Open Single Seater, ten other racing series are part of this exciting event organized by Gruppo Peroni. These include the prototype class of the Sports Car Challenge, the GT3 of the P9 Challenge, the Renault Clio Cup Italia one-make cup and some historic racing series such as the Alfa Revival Cup.

On that weekend, a road safety course for children will also be inaugurated on the racetrack grounds. The use is free of charge for visitors on the opening weekend.

According to weather forecasts, it will get hot: up to 33 degrees Celsius, precipitation is not to be expected.

Where can I find the BOSS GP cars, teams and drivers?
The BOSS GP teams are located in the pit lane exit area. These are the garages with the numbers 46 to 60. The BOSS GP catering from Sabel Racing and the Hollerweger Pirelli tyre service are located right behind them in the paddock. Fans can watch the teams and racers from the front row at work.

How do I get tickets for the Competizione BOSS GP?
Admission is free on each of the three days, access tickets are not required. Seating is free on all open grandstands and access to the paddock is not restricted. Only parking costs extra.

Wochenende für Speedfreaks: BOSS GP in Monza

Geschwindigkeit ist hier nicht nur ein Begriff, sondern spürbar – die Gefahr ebenso. Im Königlichen Park von Monza gastiert die BOSS GP dieses Wochenende zum wiederholten Male, bei bestem Wetter und gutem Essen.

Dritte Station: durch den Park
Die Big Open Single Seater kommen nach Hockenheim und Spielberg auf eine weitere Traditionsrennstrecke: Der Monza Eni Circuit, wie die Strecke seit Kurzem heißt, war in den Jahren 2011 bis 2016 ununterbrochen Teil der BOSS GP Serie. Dieses Jahr ist sie als Headliner des Peroni Race Weekends wieder zurück.

Die 5,793 Kilometer lange Rennstrecke im Königlichen Park von Monza ist eine der beeindruckendsten Rennanlagen dieser Welt. Sie ist eine der letzten Hochgeschwindigkeitsstrecken der Welt und gehört für Fahrer zu den herausforderndsten Pisten Europas.

Nur 15 Autominuten nordöstlich von Mailand gelegen, liegt sie im Metropolraum der zweitgrößten Stadt Italiens. Viele Fahrer und Fans verbinden den Besuch mit einem Ausflug in die Innenstadt und zum nahe gelegenen Gardasee.

Der 688 Hektar große Park (übrigens doppelt so groß wie der Central Park in New York) beherbergt seit 1922 das Autodromo. Nach Brooklands und Indianapolis war die Rennstrecke die erst dritte permanente Rennbahn der Geschichte, die einzig und alleine zum Zwecke von Motorsport gebaut wurde. Die Steilkurven von damals existieren noch heute und sind beliebter Besucherpunkt.

Teilnehmer: BOSS GP
Der ungefährdete OPEN-Tabellenführer Ingo Gerstl (Top Speed) bekommt mit Rinus van Kalmthout Konkurrenz. Der erst 17-jährige Niederländer bestreitet in den USA die Indy-Lights-Serie. Im mit einem Judd-Motor (8 Zylinder, 4 Liter Hubraum) ausgerüsteten Dallara-GP2, will er in Monza weitere Kilometer in einem leistungsstarken Rennwagen zu sammeln. Schon im letzten Jahr zeigte er damit außerordentliche Leistungen. Außerdem ist Wolfgang Jaksch wieder mit dabei. Der Deutsche bekam seinen Super Aguri in Hockenheim gar nicht zum Laufen, für Monza soll nun aber alles funktionieren. In letzter Sekunde nannte auch noch Hans Laub mit einem Formel-1-Auto für die OPEN. Mit Forti FG 03 hat der Deutsche einen seltenen Renner von 1996 unter dem Hintern.

Für Tabellenführer Florian Schnitzenbaumer könnte Andreas Fiedler in Abwesenheit von Bianca Steiner, Johann Ledermair und Salvatore De Plano am gefährlichsten werden. Mit Armando Mangini geht ein zweiter Italiener beim Heimrennen an den Start.

Freier Eintritt und offenes Fahrerlager
Peroni ist zum Inbegriff des italienischen Motorsports geworden. Die umtriebigen Veranstalter der Gruppo Peroni Race locken damit auch eine Vielzahl an Zuschauern an die Rennstrecke. An allen drei Renntagen gibt es freien Eintritt. Der Besuch des Fahrerlagers ist möglich, damit bekommt man seltene Einblicke in die Arbeit der Teams. Auf den Tribünen herrscht freie Platzwahl. Wenn Teams Zutritt gewähren, dürfen auch die Boxen besichtigt werden. Die Teams der BOSS GP befinden sich in den Garagen mit den Nummern 51 bis 60, sein Zelt im Fahrerlager hat wieder Andreas Fiedler (Dallara-GP2) aufgeschlagen, auf Höhe der anderen BOSS GP Teams im Fahrerlager.

Parkplätze gibt es innerhalb der Strecke, Samstag und Sonntag kostet das Parken für Motorräder 5 Euro, für Autos 10 Euro. Zufahrt ist die Viale Vedano 5 in Monza.

Weitere Rennserien an diesem Rennwochenende sind die deutsche Sportwagen-Serie DMV GTC, die nordeuropäische Formel Renault 2.0 und der Renault Clio Cup Italien. Historische Autos sind im Campionato Italiano Auto Storiche, im Alfa Revival Cup und in der FIA Lurani Trophy für Formel-Junior-Fahrzeuge am Start. Alles in allem ein sehenswerter Mix aus Schmuckstücken der jüngeren und älteren Motorsport-Vergangenheit.

Speed is not only a term here, but it can be felt – so is the danger. In the Royal Park of Monza, the BOSS GP is once again making a stop this weekend, in the best weather and with excellent food.

Third stop: through the park
The Big Open Single Seaters are coming after Hockenheim and Spielberg on another traditional race track: the Monza Eni Circuit, as the track has recently been called, was an uninterrupted part of the BOSS GP Series from 2011 to 2016. This year the track is back as headliner of the Peroni Race Weekend.

The 5.793-kilometre circuit in the Royal Park of Monza is one of the most impressive racing facilities in the world. It is one of the last high-speed tracks in the world and one of the most challenging tracks in Europe for drivers.

Located just 15 minutes by car northeast of Milan, it is located in the metropolitan area of Italy’s second largest city. Many drivers and fans combine their visit with an excursion to the city centre and to nearby Lake Garda.

The 688 hectare park (twice as large as Central Park in New York, by the way) has been the home of the Autodromo since 1922. After Brooklands and Indianapolis, the circuit was the only third permanent racetrack in history built specifically for motorsport. The steep curves of those days still exist today and are a popular visitor point.

Participants: BOSS GP
The unchallenged OPEN class leader Ingo Gerstl (Top Speed) will face competition from Rinus van Kalmthout. The 17-year-old Dutchman contests the Indy Lights series in the USA. In the Dallara-GP2, equipped with a Judd engine (8 cylinders, 4 litres displacement), he wants to collect more kilometers in a powerful racing car in Monza. Already last year he showed extraordinary performances. Wolfgang Jaksch will also be back. The German didn’t get his Super Aguri running at Hockenheim, but now everything is supposed to work for Monza. At the last second Hans Laub also announced a Formula 1 car for the OPEN. With the Forti FG 03 the German has a rare racer from 1996 under his butt.

Free entry and open paddock
Peroni has become the very heart of Italian motorsport. The bustling organisers of the Gruppo Peroni Race thus also attract a large number of spectators to the race track. Free admission during the three days of racing in Monza is a special offer. You can visit the paddock to get a rare insight into the work of the teams. There is a free choice of seats in the stands. If teams grant access, the boxes may also be viewed. The BOSS GP teams are in the garages with numbers 51 to 60, Andreas Fiedler (Dallara-GP2) pitched his tent in the paddock again, at the same level as the other BOSS GP teams in the paddock. Parking for motorcycles costs 5 Euro, for cars 10 Euro. Access is Viale Vedano 5 in Monza.

Other racing series on this race weekend are the German sports car series DMV GTC, the Northern European Formula Renault 2.0 and the Renault Clio Cup Italy. Historic cars compete in the Campionato Italiano Auto Storiche, the Alfa Revival Cup and the FIA Lurani Trophy for Formula Junior cars. All in all, a mix of jewellery from the recent and older motorsport past worth seeing.
